VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada,
July 23, 2007
Progressive Solutions Inc. is pleased to
announce three major distributors and import/exporters of
hardwood products have “gone live” with the latest
Microsoft-based version of its industry-leading flagship product,
Lumber Track V8.
“The new Lumber Track V8 is very different than its
precursors,” says Tim Elbers, Lumber Track Sales Manager.
“Increased access to data, familiar Microsoft user interface
with powerful new business intelligence tools, as well as
added supply chain management features set a whole new standard
for ERP software in the wood products industry.”
Robinson Lumber Company of New Orleans, Louisiana,
upgraded from character-based Lumber Track V5 to the modern
Lumber Track V8. Robinson has 38 Lumber Track users in their
10 facilities in New Orleans, Indiana, Alabama, Belgium and
Brazil. The project came in on budget and on schedule. Robinson
Lumber supplies lumber, flooring and other wood products from
around the world.
Danzler, Inc. of Miami Lakes, Florida, replaced
an Oracle-base in-house system with Lumber Track V8 in a project
completed in just 18 weeks. Danzler’s 50 users of Lumber
Track and 20 users of MS Dynamics GP (Great Plains), also
implemented by Progressive Solutions, are located in Florida,
California and Puerto Rico. Dantzler imports and exports a
wide variety of hardwood and softwood lumber and panel products,
as well as other building materials. Dantzler’s website
describes the system as “a state of the art computerized
link to all our offices and warehouses – the newest
technology in our worldwide communications.”
R.J. Williams, Inc., of Apalachin, New York,
installed a 10-user Lumber Track V8 system and MS Dynamics
GP (Great Plains) to replace their manual system of inventory
control and accounting. R.J. Williams operates a concentration
yard supplying furniture and cabinetmakers, wholesale/distributors,
and flooring/millwork operations both domestically and in
export markets. Randy Williams says that information in Lumber
Track helps R.J. Williams operate more efficiently and profitably:
“We have reports that can tell us in a moment what our
customers have been buying and if they’re as profitable
as we thought. We’re able to keep tighter controls on
our inventory levels.”

| New
Lumber Track V8 boost productivity & data accessibility |
| The
two key enhancements available in Lumber Track V8 are: data
accessibility and productivity tools. While Lumber Track still
has the same great integrated, real-time inventory control,
sales order management and logistics functionality that earned
Lumber Track top standing in the market along with the respect
of some of the top names in the industry, its underlying architecture
has been modernized to take advantage of new technologies –
namely Microsoft Windows and SQL Server.
Same great business logic, modern Windows look
and performance
Lumber Track’s Microsoft Windows user interface is now
consistent with the appearance and functionality of MS Office
and Outlook, so your users are immediately productive in the
familiar environment.
Intelligent tools such as Dashboards and Instant Messaging
help your employees be more responsive and stay on top of
their important tasks, as critical event messages and their
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are pushed to their desktops
in real-time.
Employees will know the software was designed to help them
do their jobs better and faster, giving them more opportunity
to add value in their role.
Improved data accessibility for easier analysis,
integration and interchange
With MS SQL Server, you can take advantage of its non-cryptic
file names, Progressive Solutions’ data warehousing
and Microsoft and other vendors’ powerful reporting
tools to analyze the data and better manage your operations.
|
| Improved data accessibility
allows you to manage your business and your supply chain
in five key ways: |
| 1. |
Align sales commitments with production
forecasting and planning, by integrating production,
procurement, inventory and sales data so that production
planning is demand-based and sales know what’s available-to-promise. |
| 2. |
Analyze your operations by exporting
to Crystal Reports, and to Excel with a simple right-click. |
| 3. |
Use Quick Answer Lists to quickly retrieve
data from Lumber Track. |
| 4. |
Use a Customer Service web portal powered
by Web Track to expand your sales desk and offer 24/7
order placement and status checks. |
| 5. |
Engage in EDI with suppliers and customers. |
|
| “Progressive
Solutions’ philosophy has always been to continually invest
in product development so our customers can take advantage of
new technologies,” says Len Williams, President &
CEO of Progressive Solutions. “For us, the only logical
product strategy was to adopt a Microsoft platform to help us
cost-effectively keep pace with the plethora of technology development
worldwide. Through Microsoft’s standardized user interface,
data access and connectivity interfaces, we’re able to
tap into new technology and practices with rapid development
cycles.” |
