Progressive Solutions offers Component Track
Costing & Workflow Management Software for Truss/Component Manufacturers

VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada, July 19, 2007

Progressive Solutions Inc., Richmond, British Columbia, announces that it will begin offering Component Track software in conjunction with its popular bisTrack system to building materials suppliers with truss and other component manufacturing facilities.

Component Track is work order and activity-based costing software designed by truss people for truss people. It is powerful integrated software that saves time for component manufactures in three challenging areas:

1. Creating estimates that are profitable. With accurate historical labor and materials cost data, including bid vs. actual costs at their fingertips, estimators can bid on and win new business with confidence they’ll make a profit.
2. Producing work orders efficiently. Component Track works with all the popular engineering programs (Alpine, MiTek, Robbins, etc.) so designs and materials requirements are automatically captured. Users can break out production phases, such as picking, cutting and setup/build to track labor costs, and can batch together like items so they can be efficiently processed together.
3. Tracking and analyzing actual costs effortlessly. It takes no extra time or paperwork to track labor and material costs, so it’s easy to know if jobs are profitable. Production floor personnel simply press touch screens to display work instructions, start tracking their time and return unused material to inventory. At the end of each job, instantly view bid vs. actual costs of material and labor.

“Component Track takes the guesswork out of plant profitability,” says Randy Faris, bisTrack Sales Manager. “It answers the question: Did I make money on that order? Component Track promises peace of mind for today's progressive component manufacturer.”

Component Track is Progressive Solutions’ brand-name for a software product developed by Rigid Component Systems of Longmont, Colorado. Rigid Components originally developed the software as an in-house costing system for their own roof and floor truss manufacturing plant.

“Costing was always the most difficult step for us. So we built a costing system, and gradually expanded it to manage our work force and other stages of our workflow including estimating and producing work orders,” recalls Jeff Harms, VP of Rigid Components. “We used Microsoft development tools and user interface, so it’s familiar and easy to learn how to use. And since it was built by truss manufacturers and is used in a truss plant, it does just what other truss and component manufacturers need it to do.”

Component Track is offered as part of the bisTrack suite of business management products for building materials suppliers. “bisTrack has been embraced by building materials distributors and dealers, amassing almost 5000 users in the UK and North America who seek modern Microsoft technology to maximize human potential and return on assets in their company,” says Len Williams, President and CEO of Progressive Solutions. “Our ability to interface with other Microsoft-based products and to rapidly develop new features and functionality is a big part of why our customers buy bisTrack.”
