Progressive Solutions Inc., Richmond, British
Columbia, is pleased to announce that Lumber Track’s
user interface (UI) has aligned with Microsoft® UI standards.
Lumber Track™ Ver.8, released today, adopts the Outlook®-style
screen, making Lumber Track even easier and more powerful
to use by allowing each user to control the windows and on-screen
presentation.
The new user interface is a reflection of Progressive Solutions’
commitment to Lumber Track’s convergence on industry
best practices and its interoperability with complementary
products such as Microsoft Dynamics GP® (Great Plains).

Lumber Track is the top-selling business
software for the wood products industry, used by lumber and
wood products manufacturers to automate, integrate and streamline
their processes. With greater control over on-screen information,
including the ability to move columns by drag-and-drop and change
the sort order of column data, Lumber Track users will have
even more vital information at their fingertips to help run

Jonathan Hicks, IT Director at Madison Wood Preservers, saw
a sneak preview of Lumber Track’s new user interface at
a recent User Group meeting. “Our users are really going
to appreciate being able to move fields by dragging-and-dropping
the columns, and customizing the fields for each user,”
says Jonathan. “And they’ll like being able to sort,
say, alphabetically or from the oldest or newest date just by
clicking at the top like you do in other Microsoft products.”

Modern appearance; same trusted
application
As its 3rd generation of the windows-based product, Progressive
Solutions has re-engineered Lumber Track’s user interface
using a modern set of Microsoft-standard UI controls, which
provide the presentation layer of the Lumber Track application
its Outlook look-and-feel.
The underlying business logic and database access functionality
of the Lumber Track application remain unchanged. In this
way, Lumber Track’s trusted and proven functionality
is perpetuated in all new systems, and it is a simple upgrade
for existing V7 users wanting the new user interface.
