Banks Lumber upgrades to Lumber
Track V7
Selects sophisticated data solution

Progressive Solutions Inc., Richmond, British
Columbia, is pleased to report that Banks Lumber, a division
of Banks Corporation of Elkhart, IN, has successfully implemented
Lumber Track V7 in their ten manufacturing facilities and
administrative office. Banks Corporation upgraded from the
text-based V5 version of Lumber Track used at its Banks Lumber
division to the modern GUI-based V7 version of Lumber Track.
Kim Gundy, Banks Lumber’s IT Manager, says that the
conversion was a tremendous success: “Overall, it went
extremely well.” She continues to cite the three main
benefits the Banks will realize from the upgraded Lumber Track

Information for
Decision-Making: “We can get more information
out of the system to tell us where our challenges and
opportunities are. V7 lets us create executive reports,
such as sales volumes by product type. It’s nice
to be able to write the reports ourselves.” |

more logical to them and is less time consuming. We’ll
be able to automate what our users are doing, to free
up their time to do other things.” |

Operational Integration.
“The ability to export to Excel has really
helped. For example, changing price tables is quicker
exporting it to Excel to make changes, then importing
it back into Lumber Track. Also, we are working on a product
management database that interfaces with Lumber Track.
We see more interfaces coming in the future, which will
really be of benefit.” |
