More hardwood operations select Lumber Track™
Will reap benefits of software designed specifically for hardwood operations

VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada, September 28, 2005

Progressive Solutions Inc. is pleased to announce that Lumber Track™ software has been selected by three more hardwood operations to automate inventory, sales order and logistics management.

Webster Lumber Company, of Bangor, WI, a diversified company composed of hardwood sawmills, a concentration yard, moulding, millwork, dimension plants and a crosstie treating plant, will implement a 15-user Lumber Track system. Lumber Track will integrate with Great Plains® and Crystal Reports® for full financial management and business intelligence. In addition, Webster Lumber will implement Progressive Solutions’ Fiber Track™ log yard management software.

Thompson Mahogany Company, of Philadelphia, PA, importers and wholesalers of quality tropical hardwoods, will implement an 18-user Lumber Track system, integrated to Great Plains accounting and financial management software and Crystal Reports reporting software.

“We needed to replace a Solomon accounting system, which we had customized to do our inventory management, with a cost-effective solution that was specifically for lumber products,” says Jim McDonald, Vice President of Thompson Mahogany. “We identified Lumber Track as the product we were most interested in. We really anticipate that it will allow us to integrate production with our financial systems, which will improve our internal controls and should save us a significant amount of money.”

The Alan McIlvain Company, also near Philadelphia, PA, importers, exporters and producers of quality hardwood lumber and custom mouldings, will implement a 20-user Lumber Track system along with Great Plains and Crystal Reports. The McIlvain family name has been associated with hardwood operations in the Philadelphia for over 200 years. The extended family also operates TBM Hardwoods, a leading regional hardwood distributor that also uses Lumber Track to manage its sales and logistics functions..

Lan McIlvain, Inside Sales with the Alan McIlvain Company recalls, “We looked at all the other systems – Agility from DMSi, Tallyworks from TradeTec and Forestry Systems – and it wasn’t a very hard decision, to be quite honest. Lumber Track just seemed the best to us, and has the best reputation.”

Lan is excited about replacing their out-of-date custom AS400 system with Lumber Track, and having access to information that will help improve customer service, such as individual bundle tallies and production status. “We’ll be able to tell the customer whether what they need is in stock and where their order is in production. That, and Lumber Track will help prevent a mistakes.” Lan comments, “That will definitely help us retain our customers, and hopefully better customer responsiveness about our inventory will help us get new customers.”

Lumber Track meets special demands of hardwood industry
These orders come on the heels of successful Lumber Track implementations at two other top producers and distributors of hardwood products: Weyerhaeuser’s Northwest Hardwoods and Indiana Hardwoods (a division of Kimball International).

Lumber Track’s unique ability to handle the business and operational information needs of the hardwood industry has proven out time and time again. Hardwood industry capabilities include:

• Support for random widths, lengths and grades.
• Detailed tallies of individual pieces in bundles.
• Retained details from split or broken bundles.
• A Bundle Analyzer that summarizes totals and percentages of each grade or dimension from selected bundles, and allows bundle substitution to achieve a customer’s specified mix.
• Load- and end-tallies tied to receipt, delivery and inventory information.
• Integrated sales orders, work orders and shipping paperwork.
• Detailed costing and margin analysis, from log to final product.

Customers report that the level of detailed inventory and costing information contained in Lumber Track has allowed them to be more profitable and be more responsive to their customers’ needs.
