Progressive Solutions Inc., of Richmond BC, announced today that it will upgrade Gérard Crête & Fils (Crête), of Sainte-Foy, Quebec from the character-based version of Lumber Track to its newest version with Windows GUI (graphical user interface).
Crête produces 240 million FBM annually of spruce, fir and jack pine. The company has carved out an enviable position for itself in world markets. Its high-quality standards in the production of lumber have made the company much sought after as a supplier for the construction industry. The company has mills in Proulxville, La Tuque and Saint-Roch-de-Mékinac in Quebec, and Dover-Foxcroft in Maine. Since 1992, Kruger Inc. of Montreal, Quebec has been a 50% shareholder.
Lumber Track™ for Windows® was introduced in October 1999. In February, 2001, Crête chose to upgrade from Lumber Track’s character-based version to the Windows version to take advantage of the GUI’s ease of use.
