RICHMOND, B.C., Canada, October 20, 2000
Progressive Solutions Inc., the leading supplier of forest products sales, inventory and logistics management software, announced today that new e-commerce features will be demonstrated in its pre-eminent product, Lumber Track™, at the NAWLA traders market in Dallas, November 2-4, 2000.
Len Williams, president of Progressive Solutions, states, "Traders in the forest industry are on the verge of a dramatic change in the way they manage their product inventories and transactions. Yet, the industry's adoption of business-to-business e-commerce will scarcely be noticed because of the widespread use of the Internet and web browsers for so many other applications." Williams explains, "Lumber Track users, who can currently confirm transactions with e-mail, EDI and fax, will have the added powerful capability to display real-time information, and create and confirm transactions via standard web browsers and the Internet."
Michael W. Johnson, Sales Manager at Progressive Solutions, adds, "A wood products enterprise with multiples facilities can easily inquire, place orders, arrange shipping and confirm status from any facility. Moreover, their customers can also access real-time information. The supply chain will be much more efficient, and wood products suppliers will ultimately be more profitable and responsive."
Lumber Track is currently capable of interfacing to emerging Net Exchanges, the electronic buy/sell sites that facilitate on-line trading over the Internet between single buyers and sellers. The new e-commerce features demonstrated at NAWLA will enable a one-to-many business-to-business relationship.
New features include the following web-based functions:
· real-time order tracking
· customer-specific offer sheets
· customer order acceptance based on offer sheets
· customer PO receipt and direct sales order creation
· shipping notification to customer
· invoice delivery to customer
· payment receipt from customer
