lumberTrack Business Intelligence / Report Writer

Description

 
The position of BI/report writer will communicate, understand, translate and deliver BI and reports requests to our lumberTrack customer base.  You will create and maintain BI and reports using MS  Reporting Tools and Crystal as well as work with the database to create stored procedures, functions and views.  The job requires interfacing with customers and internal groups for the purpose of understanding and documenting requirements, suggesting solutions, troubleshooting problems and supporting business BI and reporting needs.
 
 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education - Technology degree preferred
  • Advanced SQL Reporting Services (SRS), SQL Analysis Services (SAS), and SQL Integrated Services (SIS)
  • Advanced Crystal Report development experience
  • Advanced Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL experience
  • Broad-based understanding of accounting procedures
  • Broad-based understanding of Forest Products Manufacturing industry preferred
  • Experience with Dynamics GP and asset

Tasks/Duties

  • Duties include optimizing or fine tuning slow running reports.
  • Reconciling discrepancies between the expectations of data managers and information presented in their reports
  • Work with customers, implementers & developers to gather specifications for data and report requirements
  • Develop SQL queries to extract, manipulate and/or calculate information to fulfill data, BI and reporting requirements
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the company’s products through continuous study and experience.
  • Deliver business intelligence tools to our customers using Microsoft tool set 
  • Travel
