SQL Server DBA / SQL Developer

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Database backups and restores in all environments
  • Perform server and database optimization and capacity planning for scalability
  • Performance tuning of hardware and software
  • Implementation and management of failover clusters and replication
  • Management of database security
  • Index maintenance and tuning
  • Install, setup and configuration of database servers and new environments
  • SQL Agent job monitoring in production
  • Investigate problems (disk space; CPU usage; memory usage, etc.)
  • Perform analysis of database failures and implement solutions
  • Provide analysis report on trend of database to management
  • Support 24/7 global operational including evenings and weekends
  • Be a subject matter expert on the databases
  • Assist in IT related activities working with customers and corporate issues

Specific Skills & Personal Attributes required:

  • MCDBA preferred,  MCTS, MCITP certifications a plus
  • Five years of IT-related experience required, including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems 2003 / 2008 / 2008R2
  • Three years working with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008
  • Working knowledge of IIS, Terminal Server, basic networking skills
  • Expertise in and hands-on experience using performance counters and industry best practices to specify optimal OLTP hardware for Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong grasps of mission critical database operational procedures including log shipping and transactional replication
  • Mastery of T-SQL, DTS/SSIS, and all SQL Server tools
  • Extensive experience investigating poor performing SQL statements or server configurations using techniques such as updating statistics to improve performance between ERP software updates
  • Experience in designing and supporting highly available SQL Server hardware
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with different IO sub-systems such as SANs, external SCSI enclosures, etc.
  • Strong customer service skills dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to work within a strong team environment

Other:

  • Travel to our US Office in Federal Way, Washington will be required
